DIRECTIONS

Located in Boulder, Colorado, just west of 28th and north of Arapahoe in The Village Shopping Center. You can park in front of the restaurant or there is also abundant parking in back. Drive past Zolo Grill and take a right after Jack & Jill Children's Salon. There is a walkway east of Gymboree Play & Learn — follow that until you reach the Pizzeria da Lupo side door (there's a sticker on the door).

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Jim's long history of bringing delicious food to Coloradans started when he opened the Plum Tree Café and Tante Louise in Denver, where he caught Julia Child's attention. She named him one of the top chefs in the U.S. in 1983, and featured him on her first “Dining with Julia” television program. The James Beard Foundation nominated Jim for "Best Chef in the Southwest" in 1991. Jim then opened the award winning Wildflower Restaurant at The Lodge at Vail, as well as Cucina Rustica, another Vail favorite. He also spent time as executive chef at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona and Terrazza at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

"Regional cuisine celebrates the unique spirit of a place," Jim says. "I love to use local ingredients and simple flavors to create great, comfortable dining.

Originally from Detroit, Ken has been involved in several business ventures since moving to Colorado. Currently, Ken owns a candy company, Amusemints, and has been active in the Colorado real estate market, owning and managing properties primarily in the baseball district and highlands areas.

Ken's first venture into the hospitality business was the opening of Ocho Tulum, a 22 unit eco resort, yoga retreat and restaurant in Tulum, Mexico. Opened in December 2007, it was #1 on Trip Advisor within 18 months. In addition to being co-owner of Empire Lounge and Restaurant and Pizzeria Da Lupo, Ken recently opened Altamar, a seafood restaurant in Tulum, Mexico.
